Hi,
It was great attending RCC 2008 at the offices of SocialText in Palo Alto. I gave a talk on government using wiki in SF for our homeless resources.
THIS IS ONE OF THE NEXT BIG THINGS IN WIKI! Government needs to open up to have a wiki part of the normal government web resources. For various reasons, the millions of members of the public can do a better job at informing and making processes more efficient, than your average gov't web master.
Let's find ways to incorpate more wiki at the non-profit and government levels. My non-profit SF Revival (www.sfrevival.org) is trying to do just that with www.SFHomeless.net. Please check us out and send me any comments you have to make the site better in order to build a model for other governments.
I've spoken to several other communities and the desire is there. There just isn't enough leadership, and funding for that matter.
Thanks!
